Saturday 3pm: Leeds v Bournemouth
LAWRO: I saw Leeds last week at Anfield when they won 2-1 and they were good, they were competitive. Bournemouth are in the middle of a losing streak so I think Leeds will use that momentum and maybe they’ve turned a corner. Leeds 2-1 Bournemouth.
RESULT: Leeds 4-3 Bournemouth
Saturday 3pm: Manchester City v Fulham
LAWRO: Good luck, Fulham! This will be another big Manchester City win. I know City only won 1-0 at Leicester but you know what they’re like at home. They’re through in the Champions League and it looks like they’re on one of those unstoppable rolls. Manchester City 4-0 Fulham.
RESULT: Man City 2-1 Fulham
Saturday 3pm: Nottingham Forest v Brentford
LAWRO: Nottingham Forest got pumped 5-0 at Arsenal and Brentford drew with Wolves last time out. I think this might be a draw. Forest had had their first win for a while but when you back it up with a 5-0 loss it’s not good. Nottingham Forest 1-1 Brentford.
RESULT: Forest 2-2 Brentford
Saturday 3pm: Wolves v Brighton
LAWRO: Brighton were fab against their old manager Graham Potter who’s now at Chelsea, but you were always going to get that. Wolves look like they might be closing in on Julen Lopetegui at last and – it sounds mad because they don’t score many goals – but I just think maybe with a new manager on the horizon they’ll put in a performance. Wolves 2-0 Brighton.
RESULT: Wolves 2-3 Brighton
Saturday 5.30pm: Everton v Leicester
LAWRO: Leicester put up a good showing against Manchester City while Everton got a good draw away from home. I think this is real test for Leicester but if they don’t get anything against Everton it’s almost back to square one. Everton 2-1 Leicester.
RESULT: Everton 0-2 Leicester
Sunday 12pm: Chelsea v Arsenal
LAWRO: I think Chelsea will win this. I know how well Arsenal have done and they had a thumping win last week. Chelsea, they just got their tactics completely wrong at Brighton and they were taken apart. I think they’ll have a reaction. Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal.
RESULT: Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal
Sunday 2pm: Aston Villa v Manchester United
LAWRO: Villa capitulated at Newcastle last week and I don’t see them getting anything here. Manchester United have now made themselves more difficult to beat, they’re not conceding too many goals. I wouldn’t say they’re in sparking form, or have turned the corner or anything, but they’ll win this one. Aston Villa 0-2 Manchester United.
RESULT: Villa 3-1 Man Utd
Sunday 2pm: Southampton v Newcastle
LAWRO: Newcastle are on a great, great run. But, you know what? Southampton got a good point at Arsenal a couple of games ago and I think this might be a draw. Southampton 1-1 Newcastle.
RESULT: Southampton 1-4 Newcastle
Sunday 2pm: West Ham v Crystal Palace
LAWRO: West Ham were a little bit unlucky at Old Trafford but I think they went for it too late. They’re starting to pick up and Crystal Palace are a bit hit and miss. West Ham 2-1 Crystal Palace.
RESULT: West Ham 1-2 Palace
Sunday 4.30pm: Tottenham v Liverpool
LAWRO: Straight away I’m thinking this will be a draw. I’m not sure about Tottenham, that Son Heung-min injury will hurt them and it looks like Richarlison will be out. Antonio Conte will most definitely not want to lose another game at home. You don’t know what you’re going to get with Liverpool at the moment. Tottenham 1-1 Liverpool.
RESULT: Spurs 1-2 Liverpool
LAWRO V PUNTER CHALLENGE
So, you’ve heard what Mark Lawrenson has to say, but can this week’s Paddy Power punter take down our game-guessing guru with their Premier League predictions for this weekend?
If you don’t know what we’re talking about, where have you been? Every Premier League matchday we’re putting up at least £/€50 – more if there’s a rollover – to anyone who can outsmart Lawro in guessing the outcome of that week’s games.
And Paddy’s punters are on fire with Gooner Rian from County Tyrone making it a hat-trick last weekend. It means we’re back to a £/€50 prize pot and this time it’s Stewart the West Ham fan from Kent having a crack at the king.
Here’s his Premier League predictions for the games between 5-6th November!
Leeds 2-1 Bournemouth
Manchester City 4-1 Fulham
Nottingham Forest 1-2 Brentford
Wolves 1-1 Brighton
Everton 2-1 Leicester
Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
Aston Villa 1-2 Manchester United
Southampton 1-2 Newcastle
West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace
Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool
RESULTS
It’s a comprehensive win for our punter Stewart the West Ham fan after he correctly called the Irons getting turned over at home 2-1 by Palace and Lawro’s beloved Liverpool getting a 2-1 win over Spurs for six points from two correct scores, along with three correct results in predicting Leeds, Man City and Newcastle victories. Lawro got those same three correct results but no correct scores for a tally of just three. Looks like someone could do with the World Cup break..
