Norwich to Win

It’s not exactly gone to plan for Watford so far on their return to The Championship, has it? Some things are utterly predictable of course, they’re on their second manager of the season already and the third might not be too far away, but less inevitable is the fact they’re 14th after 13 games. That standing may be even worse come 10pm tonight following the visit of high-flying Norwich.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

The Canaries are one of three teams at the top of the table tied on 24 points and they had been on a brilliant run before a bit of a bump in the road which has seen them win one of their last four, drawing two and somehow losing 3-2 to the chronically goal-averse Preston at home last time out.

I think we can put that result down as an aberration as Preston had scored four league goals in the proceeding 12 matches. Watford have one win in their last six with two draws and three losses. To me, everything’s suggesting that will become four in seven before last orders on Saturday night and we’re getting a stonking price on Norwich to Win.

Both Teams To Score

It might not be a walkover though and the recent form is suggesting we’ll see a few goals here. Over 2.5 Goals is a fair price but we’ll add Both Teams to Score as it adds extra juice to our Bet Builder price combined with the away win.

Both teams have netted in six of Watford’s last eight games and in four of Norwich’s last five. These two just can’t keep them out, the difference is that the visitors normally have the gumption to get the three points at the final whistle.

Josh Sargent to Score Anytime

A big part of the reason for that, which is incredible if you had half an eye on Norwich’s customary last-on-the-running-order appearances on Match Of The Day last season, is American forward Josh Sargent. He’s bagged seven goals and two assists this term.

Following a hot streak at the end of August he had been a little quite of late but our man got back on the scoresheet last time out so we’ll hope he goes on another run here. Teemu Pukki is obviously a fine play, as is Sargent to Score or Assist, but at the better price we’ll take on Josh Sargent to Score Anytime.

Hamza Choudhury to be Shown a Card

I really like this Hamza Choudhury to be Shown a Card punt. He’s got the most bookings of anyone involved on Saturday evening (four), will most likely start, and will probably play the full 90. He’s on a prolific card-getting run as well, picking up two in his last three appearances and three over the last seven games which is an impressive strike rate by anyone’s standards.

The thing is, if he’s going to get a card against anyone it’s going to be against Norwich. The Canaries have the second-highest average possession per match in the Championship (61.3%) and the third-most completed passes as well (443.1 average per match) as well.

You can see the all-action Leicester loanee getting frustrated and barreling through someone as the game goes on. And, of course, the more of the ball Norwich have the more likely it is that this play land.
