After a thrilling weekend of football action, attention has turned to Monday night. We’ve got action from the League One playoffs, Serie A, the Turkish Super League and the Irish Premier Division. 6pm: Antalyaspor v Konyaspor – Over 2.5 Goals
First up is Antalyaspor v Konyaspor in the Turkish Super League, which sees ninth host third. Antalyaspor have an impressive home record this season and they haven’t lost on their home patch since October. Konyaspor, meanwhile, haven’t travelled well recently, picking up just two wins in their last seven away games.
While signs point to an Antalyaspor win, we’re not too confident of them getting the job done. Therefore, we’re backing Over 2.5 Goals. There’s been three or more goals in Konyaspor’s last seven away games. Over 2.5 Goals has also landed in three of Antalyaspor’s last five games at home.
7:45pm: Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland – Sheff Wed to Win
Next up is the second leg of the League One playoff semi-final between Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland. The Black Cats boast a 1-0 lead thanks to Ross Stewart’s goal at the Stadium of Light.
The first leg was a tight affair and it could be similar on Monday night, however, we’re expecting Sheffield Wednesday to get the job done. Darren Moore’s side had the second best home record in League One this season behind – you guessed it – Sunderland.
They lost just twice all season and have dropped points at home on two occasions since November. They’re used to blowing teams away at home and have won 4-1 twice, 5-2 and 6-0 in the last couple of months.
There’s plenty on the line with the winner heading to Wembley to face either MK Dons or Wycombe but backing Sheffield Wednesday to Win makes sense. They could sneak a 1-0 win to force extra time or Moore’s men could turn it on and dominate Sunderland.
7:45pm: Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers – Shamrock Rovers -1
Now we’re off to Ireland for Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers in the Irish Premier Division. Shamrock are flying this season and they’re second in the league, one point behind Derry City at the top of the table. Their home form has been brilliant and they’ve won six and drawn one of their seven games.
Sligo Rovers, meanwhile, have been hit and miss on the road this campaign. They’ve lost two of their last three away games and they won’t be full of confidence heading into a game against the form team in the league.
We expect Shamrock Rovers to Win, however, due to the odds, we’re going to back Shamrock -1 on the Handicap.
7:45pm: Fiorentina v Roma – The Draw
Finally, we’re in Italy for Fiorentina v Roma in Serie A, where it’s sixth v eighth. We’re into the final stages of the season and both sides are battling to finish in the top six.
Fiorentina’s home form has been exceptional this season, however, they were hammered 4-0 by Udinese last time out. As for Roma, Jose Mourinho’s men will have one eye on their Europa Conference Final against Feyenoord at the end of the month.
Both Fiorentina and Roma’s form is similar over the last six games and we’re expecting that to continue on Monday night. They could cancel each other out so The Draw seems a shrewd selection for the betslip.
