Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson keeps his place in our starting XI for Thursday’s action in the Europa League and Europa Conference League. We’ve got three games involving British sides to get stuck into as the second legs of the semi finals swing into gear.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
It’s Rangers v RB Leipzig and Frankfurt v West Ham in the Europa League while Leicester travel to Roma in the Conference League. There’s plenty on the line but are any of the British teams making it to either of the finals? Here’s Thommo’s best bets for Thursday night’s Europa action.
Rangers v RB Leipzig
TV: BT Sport 2
Kick-off: 8pm
Rangers are a goal down from the first leg but shouldn’t be too disheartened as it took the home side 85 minutes to break the deadlock with Angelino’s stunning strike. The game is still in the balance and with away goals no longer counting, Rangers didn’t commit themselves going forward too much. That will change now, though.
I expect it to be very tight. Rangers can win this game over the 90 minutes. I expect a 2-1 score line. That will take the tie to extra-time and Rangers can win through to the final in extra-time. So that’s Both Teams To Score, Rangers to win 2-1 over 90 minutes and Rangers to Qualify.

Eintracht Frankfurt v West Ham
TV: BT Sport 1
Kick-off: 8pm
The home side take a 2-1 lead into this tie, but the Hammers can play this very tight and hit Frankfurt on the counter if they wish and I’m expecting this tie to go to extra-time also. Similar to the Champions League, we’re going to have an all UK final. West Ham to win 1-0 over the 90 minutes and then West Ham to Qualify in extra time is my idea of how the match will go.
Roma v Leicester
The first game ended in a 1-1 draw with Mancini’s 67th-minute own goal giving the Foxes a share of the spoils. However, it will be very tough for Leicester to get a result in the Stadio Olimpico. I can’t see Jose Mourinho’s side giving up a goal too easily and I fancy the home side to win 2-0.
