The biggest midweek game in this round of Premier League fixtures comes from Anfield, where old rivals Liverpool and Manchester United do battle once again. United will be looking to salvage some pride following their dismal showing at Old Trafford the last time these two sides met back in October, when they fell to an embarassing 5-0 defeat.
Despite a rough patch of form, Ralf Rangnick’s side still remain just three points off the Champions League spots.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will be looking to keep the pressure firmly on title rivals Manchester City, with 21 points still up for grabs this season, and just a single point separating the top two sides. A victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side would put them at the summit of the Premier League table until at least Wednesday, when City entertain a Brighton side that have beaten both Spurs and Arsenal in their last two games.
The stage is set for a feisty encounter under the lights, so we’ve got Paddy Power Ambassador and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson alongside our trader Brian McDonnell to pick out their best bets for the action. Let’s have their verdicts…
THOMMO: I don’t think the scoreline’s going to be massive. Manchester United will have to change a little bit, Fred and Scott McTominay are set to miss out, so I think they will defend deep. That will help Harry Maguire out, I wouldn’t think he would like to test any sort of pace against Liverpool, whoever plays up front. So I still think it will be difficult.
That 5-0 win at Old Trafford last time the two sides met was fantastic for Liverpool fans, but I don’t see that happening again, I think there’s a lot of pride at stake for Manchester United. I am going for Salah to score anytime and get back on the goal train, and Liverpool to win this to nil.
BRIAN: This week I’m in complete agreement with Phil, I think it’s going to be a Liverpool win. Along the same lines, I don’t think it’s going to be a win-to-nil, but I don’t think it’s going to be a drubbing like it was at Old Trafford earlier on in the season.

I’m going to go with Liverpool to win, and under 3.5 goals, which comes in at around about evens.
