Football Tips: 7/1 shout stars in Thommo's Bayern v Villarreal best bets

Villarreal continue to confound expectations in the Champions League this season and they shocked Bayern Munich 1-0 in their first leg of their semi final. Paddy Power ambassador and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson is back once again to try and work out if their superb run can continue.

It will be a completely different kettle of fish at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night with Bayern having home advantage and a point to prove. Can the hosts get it done and turn around the deficit? Here’s Thommo’s Bayern v Villarreal tips.

Tuesday 8pm: Bayern Munich v Villarreal

Villarreal will be quaking in their boots, I’m sure. This was the big shock, wasn’t it? Villarreal were wonderful. I tipped Bayern Munich, I thought they would win and it was incredible because you thought Bayern Munich will have all the possession and knock on the door but Villarreal had all the chances!

It could have been three quite easily, they had that many chances, but they only take a 1-0 lead and they will know that’s not going to be enough because Munich will be fired up. They will be up for it and I couldn’t believe it at the weekend, they played their best team at Augsburg.

They only won 1-0 with a late Robert Lewandowski penalty. They’re nine points clear of Borussia Dortmund and they still played near enough their best team. I think they’ll be up for it, they’re long in the tooth, they know how to get these games done.

I’m going for a convincing win, I’m going 3-0 to Bayern Munich. I’m not going for Lewandowski, probably at a bit more value, I’m going for Thomas Muller to Score Anytime.
