Breaking: Big Sam spotted in bushes outside Everton Finch Farm training ground

Anyone got a pint of wine to distract him?

There has been a sighting of the legendary Premier League creature known as ‘Big Sam’ at Everton’s training ground Finch Farm this afternoon, Paddy Power News understands.

Former Toffees’ boss Allardyce was spotted lurking in the bushes outside the club’s training base according to reports.

Several witnesses claim to have seen the 67-year-old near the Halewood facility since the Merseyside club parted ways with previous manager Rafa Benitez last Tuesday.

Residents beside Finch Farm complained to the Premier League side about the strong smell of gravy emanating from the thicket which surrounds the complex.

One local identified ‘Big Sam’ as the source of the aroma after capturing drone footage of the former Bolton Wanderers boss sinking pints of Bisto in the undergrowth.

‘At first, I thought it was one of those big cats, like the Beast of Cumbria’, local man Conor Spiracy told Paddy Power News.

‘But as the drone got closer, I realised it was a much larger beast. Probably six-foot tall on its hind legs. And wearing a bench coat’.

‘It was pacing the perimeter of the training facility and appeared to be testing the fence for weaknesses’.

However, club owner Farhad Moshiri has denied the existence of ‘Big Sam’ and considered the recent sightings to be a combination of folklore, misidentification and hoax.

‘There is no such thing as a “Big Sam”’, an incensed Moshiri told Paddy Power News.

‘No data other than fabricated material has ever been presented’, he added while setting fire to all the documentation relating to Allardyce’s brief Everton tenure.

Meanwhile, Everton fan groups have confirmed they’re working on a new boo to welcome incoming manager Vitor Pereira.

‘We’ve booed so many players, managers and board members – it’s hard to keep coming up with fresh ideas’, said a spokesperson on behalf of the group.

‘He was born on the 26th July. Hmm. Maybe we should walk out in the 26th minute while blowing our noses into Portuguese flags?’.
