After a thrilling weekend of Premier League games, we’ve got some super cup action to sink our teeth into this week including Carabao Cup and Copa del Rey showdowns. We’ve studied the markets and found a smart four-fold acca for you to check out.
Barcelona travel to third-tier side Linares Deportivo on Wednesday evening as they aim to book their place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. Xavi’s men beat Mallorca 1-0 over the weekend to move up to fifth in the table, however, they’re still a whopping 15 points behind league leaders and arch-rivals Real Madrid, so the Copa del Rey could be Barcelona’s biggest chance of picking up silverware this season.
Xavi will likely put out a strong side, even with their current injury and coronavirus problems, so expect Barcelona to dominate from the off. With that in mind Barcelona half-time/full time looks the best play at the prices.
Now we have more Copa del Rey action as another La Liga side travels to a third-tier team. Celta Vigo have underwhelmed this season, however, their form has improved recently. They’ve won three of their last five La Liga games, with Iago Aspas netting twice in their 2-0 victory at Real Betis on Sunday.
Eduardo Coudet will likely ring the changes but Celta Vigo should have far too much for Atletico Baleares. We’re going with an away win.
Second-tier Mirandes host Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday with the away side flying in La Liga. They’re currently sixth in the table, just one point behind Barcelona in fifth. Vallecano have Manchester United flops Radamel Falcao and Bebe on their books and the pair could feature here.
Mirandes beat Zaragoza 2-0 last time out, but at the prices it’s worth backing Vallecano to win, rather than risking squeezing a little more value out of the handicaps.
Finally, our attention turns to Chelsea v Tottenham in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. The Blues were flying at the start of the season, however, performances have dipped under Thomas Tuchel recently. Despite their form slipping, Chelsea put in a fine effort in their 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
As for Tottenham, ex-Blues boss Antonio Conte hasn’t taken long to turn things around in north London. Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League since Conte took over and they’ll be confident heading to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Both managers will likely put out strong sides, with the winner after two legs facing Liverpool or Arsenal in the final in February. We fancy a cagey affair so we’re backing The Draw.
