Man City (-2)
Manchester City have clicked into gear in ruthless fashion after a fairly lacklustre start to December by their own high standards. City are currently on a nine-game winning streak in the league but were limping to victories against the likes of Wolves and Aston Villa before their season exploded into life with a 7-0 win over Leeds before Christmas.
They have scored 17 goals in their last three goals, ruthlessly putting Leeds, Leicester, and Newcastle to the sword in festive massacres.
Brentford, meanwhile, are enjoying a thoroughly respectable maiden season in the Premier League and have yet to lose by more than two goals since gaining promotion. However, they come into this game off the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat against a Brighton side that had not won since September and are now facing a City side that smells blood.
City should continue their relentless march towards the Premier League title.

Both Teams To Score
City may boast the best defensive record in the league, but as their second-half meltdown against Leicester suggested, they are not infallible at the back. City conceded three goals in the space of 10 minutes to turn a walk into the park into a very nervous encounter, at least for a few minutes anyway.
They have also conceded late consolations in wins over Brighton, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Watford this season, offering Brentford hope of at least breaching Ederson’s goal on Wednesday. Brentford have scored a modest 21 goals in 17 league games and have not failed to score in two consecutive league games this season.
They have scored five goals in two home games against Liverpool and Arsenal this season and are clearly capable of mixing it with the best teams in the division.
Over 10.5 Corners
City have dominated every opponent they have come up against in the league since their defeat to Crystal Palace at the end of October. Pep Guardiola’s side have recorded at least 64% in each of the nine games that have followed that Palace defeat, recording 70% possession or more on six occasions in that nine-game spell.
They have averaged more than ten corners per Premier League game in December and there is no reason to suggest that that trend will change on Wednesday when they flex their considerable muscle against yet another side that simply cannot compete financially with them.
City should match their 10-corner average against Brentford, who should record some of their own considering they have averaged more than five corners a game in their last five games.

Man City To Have Seven or More Shots on Target
City’s utter domination of possession and territory naturally translates itself into a barrage of shots in every game they play. They have registered seven or more shots on target in each of their last eight league games, hitting the target 77 times in that spell.
They have found the target a staggering 54 times in the five league games they have played in the month of December. It currently seems inevitable that City will unleash an avalanche of shots against whoever they face, and Wednesday should be no different.
