14:00 Manchester City v Everton: Both Teams To Score
Everton have been dropping down the Premier League table of late after failing to win any of their last five games. For their part, City have won three of their last five in the top flight. The Toffees could well be in for a rough afternoon here, as over their three most previous matches against City they’ve scored just a solitary goal, conceding 10 the other way. Looking at just games at the Etihad, City have won four of the last six with Both Teams to Score landing in five of them.
Everton, for all their woes, have scored in all but one of their away Premier League games this season and along with their good scoring record at City, it seems like we’re getting great value here for both teams to score in this one.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
15:15 Granada v Real Madrid: Real Madrid To Win And Over 2.5 Goals
Granada are in decent enough form despite their La Liga position of 17th. Of their last five games they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one. On home turf though they’ve been disappointing, winning just one of their last five games. Real are in fine fettle at the moment – they’re unbeaten over their last six in all competitions and in La Liga have won three of their last five. Away from home they’ve won four of their last five.
Overs has landed in four of Real’s last five on the road and in two of Granada’s last five at home. Real, like any good Carlo Ancelotti team, don’t put much mass on defending and both teams to score has landed in all but one of their seven away La Liga games. For their part, Granada have bagged at least one in all five of their home games this campaign. Real will have more than enough to win here, but Granada may get on the scoresheet to help our cause too.
17:00 Galatasaray v Fenerbahce: Under 2.5 Goals
The hatred these teams share for each other is off the charts and it’s an understatement to say this is the biggest game of the Turkish calendar. The home side are in the better shape of the two though, with two wins, two draws and a loss over their five most recent games in all competitions.
Fenerbahce have won just one of their last five. At home, Galatasaray are undefeated over their last six, winning four and drawing two, while Fenerbahce have won two and lost three of their last five on their travels.
Only one of the last five meetings between the sides have seen Over 2.5 goals, and that stat is shared over the five most previous games played at Galatasaray’s Nef Stadium. These are always tense and while Galatasaray should win it on form, we prefer the value Under 2.5 Goals here.
17:00 Inter v Napoli: Half Time Draw
Inter need to win here to avoid dropping further behind Napoli and AC Milan ahead of them in the Serie A table. Both sides come into this one with the same record of three wins and two draws over their five most recent fixtures in all competitions. At home in the league, Inter have won three of their last five, scoring 15 and conceding four.
Napoli have won four of their last five on their league excursions, drawing the other one, netting 11 goals and letting in just one at the other end. It’s hard to see Napoli keeping that record going here though against Inter. Interestingly, over their five most recent head-to-heads, all of them saw Under 2.5 goals – as did all five of their most recently played at the San Siro.
Unders does seem a bit risky though considering the firepower both teams have within their ranks, but we can exploit the stat further. Seven of those 10 combined games were level at half-time and we’re likely to see a cagey first half here too.
19:45 Lyon v Marseille: Lyon to Win
Lyon come into this match as favourites and certainly have the superior form of the two. They’ve won three of their last five games in all competitions, while at home in the league are unbeaten over their last six, winning four of their last five. Marseille have been quite unlucky over recent weeks, drawing four of their last five games and winning just one.
On their away trips in the league, they’ve won just two of their last five, drawing two and losing one. Marseille haven’t won a league match here since 2007 and with their form that’s hardly changing here. We’re going with the home side taking the three points.
