Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back once again to run the rule over this weekend’s biggest games in the Premier League, with his attention firmly focused on Chelsea v Burnley.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Chelsea are three points clear at the top of the table, whereas Burnley find themselves in the relegation zone. So, who does Thommo think is coming out on top in this one?
Saturday 3pm: Chelsea v Burnley
Thomas Tuchel’s rotation policy has been working in recent weeks and they’re flying. You can easily forget they’re without their star striker Romelu Lukaku!
Chelsea have now won seven in a row in all competitions following their Champions League victory at Malmo in the week. Their victory at Newcastle last weekend was impressive too as they completely killed the game in the second half.
I can’t see anything but a Chelsea win, especially with their superb defence. They’ve got the best defensive record in the Premier League and they’ve only conceded three goals.
Burnley come into this one on the back of their 3-1 win against Brentford last weekend. Their tails will be up but they’d only scored seven goals before that.
I don’t see Burnley scoring against Chelsea’s solid defence but I also don’t fancy the Blues to run riot. I’m going with Chelsea to Win to Nil and Mason Mount to Score Anytime.
