It’s a big night in the Champions League as Man City face off against PSG in the group of death. This is going to be a cracker and quite possibly the most expensive football game in terms of players on the field of all time, with both squads having a combined value of £1.84bn.
Tuesday 8pm: PSG v Man City
BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate
Man City are just off the back of a key win against Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend. Meanwhile in Ligue ,1 PSG pipped 14th placed Montpellier 2-0 with goals thanks to Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler. But, we’re firmly focused on Tuesday night, so let’s get to looking at what we can put into a Bet Builder for this one.
Man City come into this contest in fine fettle after seeing the full return to action of both Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden. City almost have a full-strength squad to call on – with only Oleksandr Zinchenko and İlkay Gündoğan marked on the injury list with knocks. They played like they were in full control against Chelsea, and I would expect to see them carry that composure into Parc Des Princes on Tuesday evening.
Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Foden, Jack Grealish, De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres need I say anything more when tipping this? Man City are averaging 2.2 goals per 90 mins, while PSG are averaging 1.7. We saw how the six goals Pep Guardiola’s men put up against Leipzig in that absolute cracker and they face a PSG defence who were lacklustre against a Club Brugge side that boast generational talents like Scotland’s Jack Hendry. The French outfit will be looking to make amends in a major way in this game too, so goals are a must in this one.
This bet is another no brainer. If Jack Grealish is going to go down under contact in this game, Sergio Ramos is going to ensure he hits the deck the hard way. Death, Taxes and Ramos to get himself in bother… it’s all so predictable. The Spaniard is an on-field general and a hard nut rolled into one, and that’s why he’s there!
The Stockport Gazza has returned after his injury at Euro 2020 and we’re glad to have him back. He put out a strong showing against Chelsea on Saturday morning and will be looking to pick up where he left off last season, striking fear into the hearts of European clubs. That’s why we’re backing Foden to have a shot on target in this one.
He might be on his way out of Paris at the end of this season, but he’s still got a while to go before that seemingly inevitable move to Real Madrid, and while he’s here, he will score. I see Kylian Mbappé slotting this ball past Ederson to the net on Tuesday.
