For Sunday’s European football we’ve found a very tasty treble that is absolutely teeming with value. We’ll be taking a look at the Ligue 1 clash between Lyon and Strasbourg, then we’re off to Rome where Jose Mourinho’s Roma can continue their perfect start to the Serie A season. Finally, a trip to Madrid where Real will be hosting their first home La Liga game of the season at the newly-revamped Santiago Bernabeu.

19:45 Lyon v Strasbourg: Both Teams To Score And Over 2.5 Goals

Lyon have won one, drawn two and lost one of their matches this Ligue Un season, meanwhile Strasbourg have won one, drawn one and lost two. Lyon have scored a total of five goals so far, but Strasbourg have gone one better. The clubs have met here five times since 2017 with Lyon winning three and Strasbourg winning one. Three of those games saw Over 2.5 goals occurring, but only two recorded Both Teams to Score landing.

Both sides are on an upward curve here form-wise, as they’ve both recorded the same results over their three most recent league games. We should see a few goals here, Lyon averaged 2.21 goals per home league game last season and conceded quite a few too; 1.21. For their part, Strasbourg scored 1.47 per away game last season, conceding 1.53. Either team have the goals and the talent to win this one, so we’re going with both to get on the scoresheet and at least three goals to be scored.

19:45 Roma v Sassuolo: Both Teams To Score In The Second Half

Roma are short-odds favourites to win here and since Jose Mourinho has taken charge he’s seen his side winning all four of their fixtures; two Serie A victories and a 5-1 mauling of Trabzonspor in the Europa Conference League.

Sassuolo haven’t beaten Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in any of their last five attempts. While Roma’s home Serie A form is impressive too, they’ve won four of their last five. On the flip side, Sassuolo have been in mighty away form – winning all five of their most recent away games in the league.

Both Teams to Score looks the obvious choice here and you can tell from the odds that the market certainly thinks so too. But, we can extract more value here by diving deeper in the stats. Roma scored a whopping 21 second half goals at home last season (conceding 11), while Sassuolo bagged 21 and conceded 17 in the second period of their away Serie A games last term.

Roma have netted seven goals so far this season – six of them were in the second-half, while for Sassuol,  two of their three goals were in the second period of play.

20:00 Real Madrid v Celta Vigo: Real Madrid To Win To Nil

Real Madrid haven’t played at the Santiago Bernabeu since a 2-0 win over Barcelona in March of 2020. When a pause in play was called for the you-know-what, the Real board decided to pull the trigger early on the planned renovations. Real have won two of their three La Liga games this season, drawing the other one. Celta Vigo have failed to win any of their three matches, drawing one and losing two, so it’s tough to make a case for them here.

Over the five most recent La Liga meetings between the sides played in Madrid, Real have won four and one ended in a draw. Three of those games saw Over 2.5 goals and only two saw Both Teams to Score come up.

No doubt Real will want to put on a bit of a show for their first home match and Celta could be in trouble here, they’ve only scored one goal over their three games so far, Real have netted eight over the same amount of games. Against a side struggling for goals, Real Madrid to win without conceding has the best value here.
