Never fear, Phil Thompson is here! That’s right we’ve sat down with the former England international to get his thoughts on how the Auld Enemy will fare on Tuesday night. Croatia are the visitors to Hampden Park on Tuesday, with both sides sitting on just one point in Group D after two matches.

That means both Steve Clarke and Zlatko Dalic know their nations must win to have a sniff of moving on to the knockout stages. If they don’t, they are on the road home – not that it would be too much of a spin for Scotland. Thommo has been kind enough to bring us three top tips for the occasion and we’ll let him tell you about them himself.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Tuesday 8pm: Scotland v Croatia
This is an absolutely massive game for both Scotland and Croatia on Tuesday night. Scotland are coming in off the back of a really good performance against England last Friday and they probably would have won that game if they had a better striker. They deserved even more than what they got in the England game, that’s for sure.
But, this is another big test for Steve Clarke’s men and they’ve got to raise their game yet again. There seemed to be too much expectation for them to cope with when they faced Czech Republic in the opening game, and they didn’t play like we know they are capable of in that one. But, taking on Croatia at Hampden Park, they’ve got to be bang at it.
Croatia are not a bad outfit, desperate their results to date in the tournament. They’ve still got some good players. They also know that they have to try and win this game to keep their hopes alive, so don’t rule out a big showing from them. But, one of these sides has to win the game to even have a chance of progression, and I don’t see either of them doing that.
Both Teams To Score
As I’ve mentioned, The Scots just don’t have enough goal scorers in their squad to help them come out of Group D. However, I am going to tip Both Teams To Score in this game, because let’s face it, they have to find the net to have any chance of going through.
Correct Score: 1-1
I’m also going to go for a Correct Score shout, and I feel like a 1-1 scorline is the best way to go. There’s so much on the line, that it just seems like both countries will cancel each other out.
Che Adams To Score First
Finally, I reckon Southampton strike Che Adams can build on his excellent performance at Wembley to find the net first on Tuesday night.
