Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated creating another two moments of footballing history by devouring an entire bucket of fried chicken, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.
The 36-year-old became the first player to appear at five men’s European Championships and then the tournament’s record goalscorer with a late brace against Hungary last night.
To celebrate these magnificent achievements, the Juventus superstar treated himself to a Bargain Bucket in the Portuguese changing room after the full-time whistle.
‘People might think he fronted an ad campaign while holding a bucket of fried chicken purely for the money but Ronnie loves his Bargain Buckets’, a source within the Portuguese camp told Paddy Power News.
‘While everyone else in the changing room was celebrating the win, Ronnie was sat alone in the corner in his Armani briefs throwing chicken skin down his neck’.
However, the source said the atmosphere soured when Ronaldo discovered the delivery driver had forgotten his tub of gravy.
‘Ronnie’s gone ape sh*t and rang the restaurant to give off. He even left them a one-star review on Facebook’.
Our source also claims the former Sporting Lisbon ace washed down the 14 pieces of original recipe chicken with a two-litre bottle of Irn Bru.
‘People think Ronnie chucked those Coca-Cola bottles at the press conference because they were unhealthy’.
‘But only his closest friends know it’s because he’s an Irn Bru man’,
‘Ronnie loves the ginger, especially after a heavy night on the Buckfast’.
‘It might be good for hangovers but it’s bad on the teeth. Ronaldo actually wears dentures which he keeps in a glass of water beside his bed at nights’.
Elsewhere in Group F, Germany boss Joachim Low praised France’s defensive performance following his side’s 1-0 defeat to the reigning world champions at the Allianz Arena.
‘The only sniff we had the entire game was immediately after I scratched my arse’, confessed the 61-year-old.
Following the match UEFA confirmed it had launched an investigation to establish why Paul Pogba is so good for France and shite for Manchester United.
‘It’s too early for speculation but perhaps it’s because he plays alongside N’Golo Kante for France and Fred for United’, said UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
