NEW TO PADDY POWER?

8pm: Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid – Draw

The key game in La Liga on Sunday is the clash at Estadio Benito Villamarin. Table-toppers Atletico Madrid are faltering in the title run-in and suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Sevilla last week, a defeat that allowed Real Madrid and Barcelona to close the gap.

They could be off top spot by the time kick off arrives and Atletico look to be in for another nervy 90 minutes as they revisit the same city again, this time to take on Real Betis. Diego Simeone’s men have had plenty of problems on the road lately winning just one of their last four league starts.

Real Betis meanwhile have been outstanding at home, they have won five of their last six home ties and will hold no fears about keeping that good record going against today’s rivals. This looks like it’s going to be a low-scoring, tight encounter.

Nine of Atletico Madrid’s last ten games in all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals while five of Real Betis’ last six league matches have also yielded less than three goals. With current home and away form taken into consideration, a Draw looks the most likely outcome here.

8pm: Lyon vs Angers – Lyon to Win & Both Teams to Score

The late clash in Ligue 1 comes from the Parc Olympique Lyonnais where Lyon will try to keep their title and Champions League ambitions on track against mid-table Angers. Lyon currently sit fourth in the table, eight points behind leaders Lille after a 1-1 draw away at Lens last week left their title hopes hanging by a thread.

Lyon’s defensive woes have been their weakness all season and while they have an excellent recent record against today’s rivals, the value in this game lies in backing Lyon to Win and Both Teams to Score. Lyon have had no problems scoring goals lately, they have scored in their last 14 games but they have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 games.

Angers have had a decent season and sit comfortably in mid-table. Their latest game saw them progress in the French Cup with a 1-0 win away to Sedan and they are capable of exposing Lyon’s frailties here.

Both teams have scored in four of the last six games between these teams and that’s a trend I expect to continue in this game. So, while the home team should prove too strong, back the visitors to net as Lyon Win with Both Teams Scoring.
