Draw
I can’t wait for this game. DISCLAIMER, I am a United fan, but as a trader I always have to place biases to one side when pricing games and giving tips! With that being said, backing the draw has really paid in this fixture recently. Five of the last 10 league meetings ended in a stalemate and there is often hidden value in the draw too, when you see two big teams meet.
Often the weight of money from loyal fans drives down the price of their respective teams and we can see the odds on a draw actually becomeartificially high come kick off. Also, if it is a draw with 15 minutes to go, it’s unlikely we see either team push on to win it knowing avoiding defeat just about outweighs the risk of chasing a win at that stage.
Sunday 16:30 – Liverpool v Manchester United
Sky Sports Main Event / Sky Sports Premier League
Bruno Fernandes to Score anytime
Bruno Fernandes just won his fourth player of the month, making him the first player ever to win four of these in a calendar year. It also puts him level with Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo, which incredible given he has only been at Old Trafford for 12 months!
He is Man United’s top goalscorer this season, scoring five penalties in the league and is worth a look at his current anytime price.
Mo Salah 2 or more shots
Mo Salah’s record against United is not great (one goal in five games). One way of therefore getting Salah into our Bet Builder is for him to have 2 or more shots. In the league this season he averages 3.4 shots per game (the fourth-most in the Premier League), not all hit the target, but I do reckon he will get a few shots off against United.
I can see him doing a couple of his usual dribbles from the right, getting by Shaw and letting fly. If Liverpool do get a penalty, that will be another shot for him. It’s worth pointing out here that David de Gea needs to improve on his penalty record, he hasn’t saved any of the last 19 he’s faced in the Premier League.
Fred to be carded
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will go 4-2-3-1, with a fresh Scott McTominay and Fred coming into the side. Fred is all action. He averages 2.7 tackles per game, which puts him in the top 15 players in the league this season for that metric. He has also picked up four yellows in all competitions already, plus the cards that saw him sent off against PSG. Liverpool will have most of the ball and with the likes of Sadio Mane and Salah looking to get on the ball in or around the United box, a stray leg from Fred could see another card here.
Looking at the fixtures for the weekend this is the main event. No doubts about it. As a United fan, I’m really looking forward to the match, but I am only backing some legs from this Bet Builder as I am watching the game and therefore I will get a bit of entertainment from the bet. Remember you do not always have to have a bet. Please remember to gamble safely and to support those who need it.
