Paddy Power was hit hard in the pocket this weekend after one lucky punter pulled off an outrageous sevenfold accumulator to land more than £12,000.
The Hounslow hero resisted the urge to cash out and was richly rewarded when their £2 stake returned a stunning total of £12,358, making for a very welcome early Christmas present in west London.
The parlay sevenfold was placed at odds of 6,178/1 and involved five matches from Spain as well as a Super League Greece clash and Arsenal’s Premier League meeting with Wolves.
The football aficionado decided to back Over 1.5 First Half goals in all seven games, meaning a very stressful Sunday as they kept their fingers crossed for action from the off.
Luckily there were goals galore in Spain’s Segunda division, with Ponferradina beating Leganes 3-2 (four of those strikes netted before half-time) while Sporting Gijon raced into an early lead against Las Palmas.
The latter eventually ended up winning 3-2, but our punter’s attention had already moved elsewhere after that leg of the acca landed.
Mallorca battered Logrones 4-0, although it took until the 41st minute for the home side to score their all-important second goal.
Meanwhile, Celta Vigo caused an upset in La Liga with a 3-1 win over Granada and a 1-1 draw between Real Sociedad and Villarreal kept the dream alive for our bold bettor as four of those six goals were bagged before the break.

And AEK Athens were level with Asteras Tripolis at half-time thanks to goals from Marko Livaja and Jeronimo Barrales respectively, with the former eventually securing a 2-1 victory.
That left everything riding on the result at the Emirates and Arsenal’s unreliable defence duly delivered with Wolves scoring the opening goal after just 27 minutes through Pedro Neto.
Gabriel equalised for the home side three minutes later to secure the mega sevenfold bet, while Daniel Podence’s winner was ultimately irrelevant to our latest Hall of Famer.
That ridiculous run of results meant a wonderful weekend for our winner and a tough Monday for Paddy’s bean counters.
