With reports that Crystal Palace are considering cashing in on Wilfried Zaha, we’ve taken a look at the odds of the winger leaving. Everton have been heavily linked with the 27-year-old but we think they’re set to miss out on his signature.
We’ve got it at 1/4 – or an 80% chance – that Zaha does not join The Toffees, despite their reported interest in signing him. While it’s rated 7/2 that he does head to Goodison Park, with Arsenal slightly behind them at 9/2, and rivals Tottenham next at 15/2.
And, with Covid-19 said to be impacting player values, it’s now priced at 14/1 that his fee is £100m or more as previously suggested, with £75m or under the most likely amount at 1/5, and £50m or under in at 4/6.
Also in the running for his signature are Newcastle (10/1), recently-promoted Leeds United, Leicester (both 12/1), West Ham (14/1) and Wolves (18/1). Interestingly, there has been a number of bets placed today on the forward returning to his former club, Man United, despite odds of 25/1.
Paddy Power said: “Although reports today suggest that Everton are keen to sign Zaha, it looks like the same kind of keenness I have for winning the lottery… Not impossible, but not necessarily likely.
“We’ve even taken a few bets on him returning to Old Trafford today – though they do say never go back, unless your name is Paul Pogba.”
