Dublin punter nets €10,768 off €16 acca

It's not exactly the Euro millions but he'll take it

He may not have won the Euromillions but one west Dublin Paddy Power punter had cause for celebration today after his €16 16-game accumulator landed to net him €10,768.

The online customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, landed the 673/1 shot by backing 15 favourites and one draw across seven countries.

He got off to a cracker of a start on Sunday when Sevilla, Juventus and Ajax all won to get the ball rolling before Southampton and Inter Milan helped maintain the momentum.

It wasn’t all plain sailing however after he was made sweat by Arsenal who had to see off a late challenge from Burnley on Sunday.

The Gunners looked to be cruising before conceding an injury time penalty which was hammered home by Andre Gray. The draw looked to be a sure thing until the North London club won a 98th minute penalty of their own which was cooly slotted by Alexis Sanchez with virtually the last kick of the game.

With 14 legs landed he had a nerve-wracking two day wait for the final two legs of his accumulator which were won by Napoli and PSG to land him the big prize.

Our spokesperson, Féilim Mac An Iomaire said “He may have filled his acca with favourites but correctly predicting 16 fixtures is a ridiculous feat and he’s certainly earned his place in our punting hall of fame. Ten grand is not to be sniffed at and it should cover the cost of the hair transplant that he needs after been put through the ringer by Arsenal’s dramatics.”
