6pm: Saudi Arabia v Japan – Japan to Win
Japan head to Saudi Arabia in AFC World Cup qualifying knowing that they really could do with a win. The Samurai Blue are 4th in the Round 3 Group 2 table behind their hosts who sit in 2nd.
Japan suffered a shock loss to Oman first time out in their opening match but bounced back against China away from home. The Saudis have beaten whipping boys Vietnam and Oman away from home. However, Japan are ranked 30 places higher than their opponents and they really should be securing an away win after their rude awakening on match day one.
7.30pm: Australia v Oman – Australia (-1)
Talking of Oman, they feature here as well as they head to Australia which is, remember, in Asia now. Sort of. The Socceroos have won two from two so far, scoring four and conceding none, topping this group in the process.
Oman have won one and lost one but I can’t see them pulling off a similar shock here. The Aussies will be far too good and with home advantage, I think they should easily pass the Australia (-1) handicap.
7.45pm: Belgium v France – Belgium to Win
We’re jetting off to Europe next for the second Nations League semi final as France head to Belgium. Les Bleus have been pretty underwhelming for a while now and they’ve only won once in their last six games, most recently against Finland.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, have won all three games this season and their only defeat in the last nine came against eventual Euros winners Italy in the quarter finals. France are going through a sticky patch and it’s just not clicking for them at the moment so I’m happy to go with Belgium to Win at a great price here.
10.30pm: Sao Paulo v Santos – Under 1.5 Goals
And finally, off to South America for the faded giants derby as Sao Paulo host Santos in the Brazilian Serie A. These two have only won 11 of their combined 45 matches this season and they sit in 13th and 16th respectively with the visitors in genuine relegation trouble.
Unsurprisingly, neither are in good form. In their combined last 10 games they’ve won just one between them, with Sao Paulo tasting victory four games back. One thing these do is keep it tight and goals are always at a premium. Santos have scored one goal in their last six games while it’s five in six for the hosts. Under 1.5 Goals is a great price and well worth a punt.
