For Friday’s football acca we’re taking a look at two Championship games in England where Coventry take on Peterborough and West Brom host QPR. We’ll also be taking a look at Porto who travel to Gil Vicente hoping to cut the gap at the top of the table between themselves and Benfica. First though, to Germany where Greuther Furth will be dreading the visit of Bayern Munich in a Bavarian derby.

19.30: Greuther Furth v Bayern Munich – Bayern to Win to Nil

TV: Sky Sports Mix

Greuther Furth are yet to win since returning to the Bundesliga. Over their five league games they’ve drawn one and lost four. They’ve managed to score just three goals but have conceded 13, the joint highest in the division. Bayern have played eight games across all competitions so far, winning seven and drawing one. Greuther haven’t a hope here, let’s be honest.

If anyone thought Bayern might have overexerted themselves in their 0-3 victory over Barcelona last week they were mistaken as the Bavarians smashed Bochum 7-0 over the weekend. New manager Julian Nagelsmann has worked wonders on the Bayern defence, and they’ve only conceded once over their four most recent games. With Greuther really struggling for goals we see some great value in backing Bayern to Win to Nil here.

19.45: Coventry v Peterborough – Coventry to Win and Both Teams to Score

Coventry have been in decent form this season, and no doubt the return to the Ricoh Arena has done them the world of good. Of their eight league games so far they’ve won five, drawn one and lost two. The goals haven’t exactly been flowing though – they’ve only scored nine goals in total – but have only conceded a total of six. Peterborough haven’t had a good start. They’ve only won two matches, drawing one and losing five. They have managed to score a few more than their rivals here though, finding the back of the net 10 times, they have, however, conceded 17.

Coventry have won all four of their home games in the league, Peterborough have lost all four of their games, however, there’s plenty of goals in Darren Furguson’s side and they’ve scored six over their last three home/away games. Coventry are the form team but we can see both scoring here. The best bet then is for the home side to take the points and both teams getting on the scoresheet.

20.00: West Brom v QPR – BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Football

West Brom are yet to be beaten in the Championship this season, they’ve so far won four and drawn four of their eight matches, scoring 14 and conceding seven. QPR have won three, drawn three and lost two over their eight matches, scoring 16 and conceding 12. The sides have met four times since 2018 at both stadiums, West Brom winning three with one level.

Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5, indeed Over 3.5 goals, landed in three of those four games. With West Brom averaging 1.75 goals per game this campaign and QPR getting 2.0 per game there’s value to be had in backing both to score and seeing Overs land here again.

21.15: Gil Vicente v Porto – Porto to Score Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

Four points already separate Porto from Benfica at the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. While it’s obviously still early doors in the league, both of the previous two seasons were won by just five points so it’s imperative that Porto stay close to the leaders and take the three points here. Vicente have won two, drawn two and lost two of their six league games this season, Porto have won four and drawn two. Vicente have scored seven and conceded six while Porto have scored 14 and conceded just three.

Over their five most recent competitive meetings at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, Porto have won four and Vicente won the other. Most interestingly for us here, Porto scored two goals or more in all four of those victories and this season are averaging 2.33 goals per league game. Short odds here but it’s still a value price based on these stats, we’re backing Porto to Score Over 1.5 Goals.
