19.45: Anderlecht v Gent – Over 2.5 Goals

Anderlecht and Gent are both seven games into their domestic season and things aren’t exactly going as planned for either. Anderlecht have won four of their seven, drawing one and losing two, scoring a respectable 15 and conceding eight. Gent have only won two of their seven, drawing one and losing four. They’ve scored 13 and conceded 10 so far.

Previous matches between the sides at Lotto Park have been pretty even with both winning one of their five most recent meetings, with three ending level. Anderlecht are unbeaten over their last four at home in all competitions, Over 2.5 goals landing in all of those games, while Gent have won two and lost two of their last four on the road. With both teams in good goal-scoring form we expect the Over 2.5 goals trend to continue here.

19.45: Roma v Udinese – Roma to Win and BTTS

Roma surrendered their 100 per cent Serie A record away to Verona over the weekend, but they’ve been in great overall form, winning six of their seven games in all competitions. In the league, they’ve won three and lost one, scoring 11 and conceding five. Udinese have won two of their four matches, drawing and losing one each, scoring and conceding six goals. Since 2014 the sides have met eight times at the Stadio Olimpico with Roma winning seven and the away side winning the other one. Udinese have only managed to score in two of their five most recent meetings there.

However, of their six matches in all competitions so far this season Udinese have scored in all but one and Roma have conceded at least one in three of their four home games in all competitions. Udinese have scored an away goal in all five of their most recent away Serie A games too while Roma have won five of their last six home league games. Roma should win this one but there’s decent value to be got by adding Udinese to the scoresheet.

19.45: Celtic v Raith – Celtic to Win and BTTS

Celtic are in awful form of late, they’ve only won one of their last five in all competitions while Raith have won four of their last five, losing one. This is a League Cup game so we can expect a few changes from Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou with a few fringe players coming into the side. Raith though can smell blood here and will be confident of taking the game to an out-of-sorts Celtic side.

It must be said though that Celtic have had some tough losses of late, losing to Rangers, AZ and Real Betis and looking at home form only they’ve actually won all six of their most recent fixtures at Celtic Park and only conceded in one of those games. Raith have scored at least one in four of their last five fixtures and in three of their last five on the road. Against a makeshift Celtic side they should continue their scoring run but Celtic should have more than enough to advance to the next round.

19.45: Dundee United v Hibernian – Under 2.5 Goals

Dundee United have won two of their last five, drawing two (winning one on penalties) and losing one. At Tannadice things are a bit better where they’ve won four of their last five in all competitions, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Hibs have won two and drawn three of their last five overall matches, away from home Jack Ross’ side have won two, drawn two and lost one.

Hibs haven’t lost away to Dundee since 2016, a run that has seen them win four of their last five games there, drawing the other one. Indeed, of those four victories, Dundee failed to score in all of them. There’s no arguing that Hibs certainly have a hoodoo over Dundee here but this being a cup match it’s slightly different. Over 2.5 goals was only witnessed in one of those previous five matches and in just one of Dundee’s last five at home. We can’t see many goals here, Under 2.5 goals is the pick.

21.00: Cadiz v Barcelona – BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals

Barcelona just love making things tough on themselves, what should have been an easy home win over Granada at the weekend turned into a draw and indeed Barca were trailing from the second minute of the game until the 90th. Cadiz have won just one of their last five, drawing two and losing two. At home in La Liga, they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three. However, they’ve scored in four of those games.

Barcelona have won two of their last five overall matches, drawing two and losing one. Away from the Nou Camp they’ve won three and drawn two of their last five. Cadiz famously beat the Catalans here last season, prior to that game they’d not met since 2005. Both teams are scoring a decent amount of goals and Barca’s defence is all over the shop so we’re looking at BTTS and Overs here.
