Liverpool seem to be firing on all cylinders at the moment after battering Leeds last Sunday and seeing off AC Milan 3-2 in a rip-roaring Champions League contest at Anfield in midweek. They host a Crystal Palace outfit this Saturday at 3pm who also look to have found a bit of form of late. Patrick Vieira’s men backed up an impressive draw at West Ham by beating Tottenham comprehensively at home last weekend.
Paddy Power’s football ambassador Phil Thompson is here for a deep dive at the best bets – and our football trader Jason Murphy has chimed in too….

Before Liverpool had that run last season where they didn’t win in six games on the spin. The last team that had won at Anfield was Crystal Palace. I’ve watched Wilfred Zaha a lot, and he always saves his best games for the big teams – particularly Liverpool! He always seems to come up trumps when he faces The Reds, whether it’s at Anfield or Selhurst Park. He just likes to take on the opposition and I reckon he could have a goal in him here.
Also, Palace have Odsonne Edouard – who has just arrived down south from Celtic – and he scored twice against Tottenham last week after coming on as a substitute. I reckon he will play in this one at the expense of Christian Benteke. All that has me fancying the Both Teams To Score bet here.
Sadio Mané has scored in each of his last eight games against Crystal Palace. So, you’d have to tip him to be on the scoresheet yet again in this one. That is my nap! Mohamed Salah has also netted five in the four previous games when Liverpool and Palace have squared off, but there is more value in going with Mané this Saturday.

The swagger is back for Liverpool at the moment, and they seem to be heading in the right direction. They had a great win over AC Milan in the Champions League during the week. I also loved the way that Jurgen Klopp came out and identified the issues in the Liverpool defence that caused them to concede the two goals that they did let in against Milan. He felt that their back line was sitting too deep and that created a gap between them and Fabinho in the defensive midfield, which AC Milan exploited.
Fabinho role in the side was overlooked a bit in Liverpool’s issues last season. People pointed to Virgil van Dijk absence, but they also lost Fabinho from his position as he had to cover at centre back. The Brazilian is one of the best in world football at sitting in front of the back-four and that added to the woes of The Reds last term.
But, Liverpool are back purring now. This stat is unbelievable, in the four Premier League games Klopp’s side have played this season, they’ve had 100 goal attempts. That is ridiculous! That’s 16 more than any other team in the league. So, with Crystal Palace also carrying an attacking threat, I’d suggest backing the Over 2.5 Goals market.
But, who is going to provide the goals for Liverpool you ask? Trent Alexander-Arnold could be your man, no player in the Premier League has created more chances this season than Liverpool’s right back. If you are having a look an Anytime Assist, Trent can be found a nifty price.
Liverpool v Crystal Palace tips summary:
Over 2.5 Goals
Both Teams To Score
Sadio Mané To Score Anytime
Trent Alexander-Arnold To Have An Anytime Assist
