Football Tips: Newcastle v West Ham best bets

This looks a hard game to call on the season’s opening weekend but I would be hopeful of a high scoring encounter like we saw when these teams last met last April. Newcastle won 3-2 at St. James’ Park on that occasion even without their talisman Callum Wilson.

A strike partnership of Wilson and the electric Allan Saint-Maximin will trouble most defences in the Premier League and should give Newcastle fans some reasons for optimism in the upcoming campaign. West Ham supporters will be concerned at the lack of activity so far in the summer window but with Michail Antonio fit, the Hammers possess a potent attack that should have enough to breach the Newcastle defence at least once.

Said Benrahma to Score Anytime

The former Brentford star played in fits and starts last season and failed to really gain the trust of David Moyes as evidenced by only 14 league starts and only one goal. However, Benrahma is a player of huge talent and Moyes will need him to fill the void left by Jesse Lingard’s departure.

If the Algerian applies himself a bit more when out of possession, he has what it takes to become one of the better-attacking players in the Premier League. I’m expecting a big season from Benrahama and hopefully he can start it with a bang at St James’ Park.

Tomas Soucek to Have 1 or More Shots on Target

Soucek managed 10 goals and 23 shots on target in an outstanding first full season in England. In a game in which West Ham should have plenty of possession, he’s a fair price to find the target at least once.
