For Sunday’s European football acca we’re mostly focusing on Spain’s La Liga. Defending champions Atletico Madrid open their account away to Celta Vigo, a Messi-less Barcelona host Real Sociedad and Sevilla play Rayo Vallecano in the late kick-off.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

We’ll also be dropping in on Marseille v Bordeaux, a match Marseille haven’t lost since 2008. Let’s have a look then at where we’ve found some value.

The below picks in a Paddy Power Acca will give you odds of around 30/1. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.

4.30pm: Celta Vigo vs Atletico Madrid: Atletico to Win to Nil

TV: LaLigaTV

Bit of an early kickoff here so don’t miss out. Celta Vigo will have been quite happy with their finishing position of eighth last season and no doubt will now want to push on further up the table. Atletico are obviously defending La Liga champions and have won this fixture in four of their last six league visits. Vigo had a fairly good goal average at home in the league last season, scoring 1.58 goals on average, conceding 1.58 as well.

Atletico averaged 1.37 goals and conceded just 0.74 on average. Over their last six league meetings against Vigo at Estadio de Balaidos, the home side have only scored in two games. Of their 26 league victories last season, Atletico Won to Nil in 14 of them. Atletico have more than enough to win here and they should start off their season with a clean sheet here.

7pm: Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: LaLigaTV

Barcelona are starting their season under a cloud. Their greatest ever player has left for Paris St Germain and the players they’ve signed, Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero are unavailable for this match. They’re signed but unregistered and Aguero is injured anyway, as usual, as is Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele. Antoine Griezmann though is fit and subject to a supposed Manchester United bid as well. So, as usual with Barcelona, it’s the off-field stuff that’s grabbing the attention.

Ronald Koeman

In their last 20 meetings at the Nou Camp Barcelona have won every single time. This won’t stop Sociedad having a go though, they’ll know all about Barca’s injuries and off-field shenanigans, Barca have even failed to sell all their tickets for a reduced-capacity match here.

Their season isn’t starting well, even before kick off, and Sociedad will be eager to inflict some damage. Barca only kept three clean sheets over their last 10 home La Liga games, Sociedad scored in eight of their 10 last away league games. For all their apparent woes Barcelona still have some amazing players and should have enough to win here, though we’re backing BTTS and Overs here.

7.45pm: Marseille vs Bordeaux: Marseille Win & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

As mentioned above Marseille haven’t lost at home since 2008. They’re quite obviously odds-on favourites here but they finished their league form last season by keeping just two clean sheets over their last 10.

Bordeaux scored in eight of their 10 last away games and Over 2.5 goals was seen in nine of their last 10 on the road and occurred in three of the last five home games for Marseille. Marseille to Win and Overs is the way to go here.

9.15pm: Sevilla vs Rayo Vallecano: Sevilla to Win to Nil

TV: LaLigaTV

Rayo Vallecano have only beaten Sevilla once over their last 10 visits to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. However, we should mention that the sides have only met three times since 2015. Rayo were promoted via the playoffs last term and, over their 21 away La Liga II matches last season, they only won eight.

Sevilla won 14 of their home games last season, 11 of which they won to Nil. The market isn’t giving Rayo even much of a chance of scoring here even though they averaged a goal per game on the road last season but compared to Sevilla’s record of conceding just 0.58 home goals last season we have to go with Sevilla to Win to Nil here.
