I’ve never used the term ‘I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed before’ but it does work as a tagline to this fixture. Wolves are somehow 12th in the league, but given the points differential to neighbours Aston Villa, it’s probably the peak of their aspirations for 2020/21.
However, it feels like almost all of the sides below them have achieved more through the first 31 games of the season. Palace are perennial overachievers, but have had some defining moments. Southampton were in the Champions League hunt in October. Brighton play some of the best football in the country, while Burnley’s away record is up there with everyone else’s.
Even Fulham feel like they’ve outplayed Wolves. But, maybe they’re victims of their own success to this point and that Neto goal against Chelsea is really the only standout in my mind. Of course, the reason for that is because we now consider Wolves a Premier League club in their own right.
But that drop-off, for as uneventful as it’s been, holds no candle to the disgrace that Sheffield United have been. Yes, Wolves fans, things can always be worse, eh?

The Shorty: Under 2.5 Goals
Sheffield United have scored once since the seventh day of the second month of the year. Wolves haven’t scored more than twice at home all season. I don’t need to explain further of course, but there’ll be an acceptance of the result once Wolves score the opener, and that’s if they can actually find the target to begin with.

Sky Sports Main Event / Sky Sports Premier League
If there’s someone you really don’t like – and we all have them – then get them to watch this 90 minutes of football. You’ll probably never have to speak to them again afterwards.
Value Punt: Adama Traore to Score Anytime
The only reason this is value is due to the fact that everyone is in or around 2/1 to score a goal, which is probably a sad indictment of these two sides this year. On the other hand, you could easily argue that it makes it easier to pick a goalscorer because Traore is the only player you know won’t go through the motions.
I’m not sure he even knows what they are. He’ll take on his man and either put one in the top corner or knock a pigeon clean off the roof of the stand behind the goal. In a match-up where both sides will do their subtle best to have a glorified week off, Traore at least offers you effort.
Long Shot: Card Index – Sheffield United Over 30 Points
Honestly, I’m awaiting their moment of resignation. It’s sad when a team goes down, but it’s 10 times worse when they look like they’re not even that bothered by it. What I’d really like to see is someone kick someone. No, I don’t mean for them to be injured, but one of those little swipes of a boot where they pretend they’re angry. You know the ones.
The biggest issue with the relegation of The Blades will be that they went down without swinging. I’d like to see it both physically and metaphorically, if you catch my drift. Wolves have just enough s***houses in their squad to eek out that level of aggro.
