The Shorty: Gareth Bale to Score Anytime
Gareth Bale has finally decided to show up and start putting a shift in for Spurs and it’s just at the right time. Mourinho’s team is looking a bit lost of late, which is somewhat surprising as it’s usually in the third season of a Mourinho reign that his teams fall apart and implode.
Bale should glimpses of his former self against Manchester City a few weeks ago, got on the scoresheet of the first leg win against Wolfsberger. He was also Tottenham’s best player in their 2-1 away loss to West Ham over the weekend.
It’s long past time for the Welsh winger to deliver and against a side of the quality of Wolfsberger he should be really about to stamp some authority over the game and get some more confidence in himself to kick on from there. Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are decent shouts here too, but both will probably come on at a later stage in the game while Bale should be in the starting line-up.
Wednesday 17:00 – Tottenham v Wolfsberger
BT Sport 1
Value Play: Spurs to Win to Nil
Spurs have kept three clean sheets over their four most recent home Europa League matches, while Wolfsberger have failed to score in two of their last five matches in the competition. Much has been made of Spurs’ lack of Premier League form of late, but it is still worth mentioning that over their last 13 home matches they’ve kept eight clean sheets.
This is still a Mourinho side and his teams are always built around a strong defence. Keeping another clean sheet and getting a few goals under their belts will be the aim of the game here. Against a side of this calibre, Spurs should be able to add to that impressive home tally of clean sheets here.

Long shot: Anytime Correct Score – 4-0
There’s a higher odds option to this if you’re less risk averse than us, that’s the 4-0 Correct Score bet. The difference here is that we only need it to be 4-0 once in the game, so should it finish, 5-0 or more or 4-1 the bet still wins.
We’ve made the argument for a Spurs’ whitewash above and this follows a fairly similar logic here. Tottenham are pretty much already qualified and by smashing in a few goals and keeping a clean sheet they can build upon their most recent home Premier League victory over West Brom. Bale, Kane and Son will be eager for the goals as well and we can see them having a field day against the Austrian side here.
