West Ham to win
The writing is very much on the wall for Fulham who have now gone 11 league games without a win. Scott Parker’s side are now eight points adrift of safety and seem to have no hope of closing that gap in their last 17 games of the season.
The Cottagers have won just twice all season – even Sheffield United have won more – and it is this failure to win games that will result in their rapid return to the Premier League. Fulham have actually drawn seven of their last 11 games, but each of their last three defeats have come at Craven Cottage and they are without a win at home since early November – a run of seven games.
West Ham, on the other hand, have won their last three Premier League away games and have picked up 15 points from their last six games. They have an outside chance of finishing in the top four and will be too good for their London neighbours. Expect West Ham to Win here.
Jesse Lingard to score anytime
While neither of Jesse Lingard’s goals against Aston Villa were anything special, the Manchester United loanee will have taken a lot of confidence from finding the back of the net once more. Lingard had not kicked a ball in the league this season prior to his loan move to West Ham and seems to already be flourishing in a side with lower expectations than Manchester United.
Lingard had six shots in West Ham’s win over Aston Villa and is clearly playing without fear. Fulham will afford him space to shoot at times during Saturday night’s game at Craven Cottage, and Lingard may well Score Anytime to continue his impressive start to life in London.
Both teams to score? No
Fulham’s wretched form at home stems from their inability to score goals. Parker’s side have scored just one goal in their last five league games at Craven Cottage, while they were also trounced 3-0 by Burnley in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
They have the joint-worst home goalscoring record in the league with just seven goals from their 11 games at Craven Cottage. To put that into perspective, Manchester United bettered that record in one game, while Aston Villa also matched it within 90 minutes.
Fulham have been defensively resilient in their 11-game winless streak, but they have often sacrificed their potency up front in favour of defensive solidity. Additionally, Ivan Cavaleiro and Aleksander Mitrovic have simply not been good enough in front of goal and they have relied too heavily on Bobby De Cordova-Reid. West Ham could record their eighth clean sheet of the season with Both Teams To Score? No in this one.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid to have 2 or more shots
With just five goals to his name, Bobby De Cordova-Reid has scored almost one-third of Fulham’s league goals this season. It is a microcosm of Fulham’s problems and will almost certainly result in their relegation.
Reid has started 15 games for Fulham this season, scoring once in every three games he starts. He has had 22 shots on goal in those 15 starts with seven shots finding the target. West Ham face roughly 10 shots per game on average, meaning that there is a very good chance that De Cordova-Reid will have 2 or more shots.
