Jurgen Klopp Next Job Odds: Who could come calling for the Liverpool legend?

What's next for the former Liverpool boss?

Surely even rival fans admit the Premier League is better with him?

Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool this summer will leave a major hole in the Premier League. Arne Slot has taken over the helm at Anfield, but what for Klopp himself?

Sure, he’s indicated that an immediate job is unlikely, but football’s a funny old business and a spell away from the tactics board could leave him wanting a return.

Luckily, Paddy’s trusty traders have whipped up a betting market on Jurgen Klopp’s Next managerial job to give you some talking points down the pub and you can check out the latest odds on paddypower.com.

Here’s a quick guide to Klopp’s potential options once he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season.

Germany National Team

It is no secret the German football bigwigs are eager to lure Klopp to manage the national team. There could be a vacancy if Julian Nagelsmann departs after their Euro 2024 exit, but the former Bayern Munich boss has signed an extension until after the 2026 World Cup. The less-demanding nature of international football could also allow Klopp to recharge his batteries.

Barcelona

Another option has been kicked down the road with Hansi Flick replacing Xavi at the helm in Catalonia for the 2024/25 season. Klopp’s German compatriot will need to return some silverware to Barcelona or risk the twitchy wrath of President Joan Laporta next summer. If not, there may be a spot open for Klopp when he is ready to return to work.

England National Team

Many have touted Jurgen Klopp as their ideal successor for the England role following Gareth Southgate’s exit at the end of Euro 2024. The German would become only the third non-Englishman to take charge of the Three Lions and the first since Fabio Capello’s exit in 2010. With Klopp committed to his sabbatical, it seems unlikely, but the FA could hold off appointing a permanent boss until he is ready.

Bayern Munich

It seems like a right of passage for any great German manager to take charge of Bayern Munich. However, given he was the last person to deny them a Bundesliga trophy, it probably wouldn’t go down too well.

Vincent Kompany was the surprise replacement for Thomas Tuchel and he will be under pressure to take Bayern back to the top of German football. If not then it would be a bolt from the blue to spot Klopp in Bavaria during the season!

Borussia Dortmund

Sequels are rarely as good as the originals but a return to Borussia Dortmund would have a certain romantic nature. Klopp turned BVB into one of the best sides in Europe during a glittering spell at the club and they could come knocking in a bid to challenge at the top table once again.

Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti’s doing a grand job at the Bernabeu, but Florentino Pérez is hardly renowned for his patience, and a dip in 2025 could change things in the Spanish capital.
