Michael Beale paid the price for Rangers’ ropey start to the season, with the 43-year-old given his marching orders after being in charge for just under 12 months.
Rangers missed out on the Champions League group stages this season and they’re already a long way behind their ole foes from across Glasgow in the title race.

A 3-1 defeat at home against Aberdeen was the final straw for the Rangers hierarchy and former QPR boss Beale was given the heave-ho.
Paddy’s traders have put together an early list of contenders to replace Beale – and you can see all the latest Next Rangers Manager Odds here.
Next Rangers Manager Odds
Phillipe Clement
Belgian boss Phillipe Clement’s name is doing the rounds with his Monaco going great guns in Ligue 1. They’ve topped the table in the early stages of the 2023/24 season, scoring a hatful of goals in the process as well.
John Eustace
Former Birmingham City boss John Eustace could be set for an immediate return to management following his surprise sacking at the Championship side. They were 6th when he was given the boot with rumours the Blues hierarchy have decided Wayne Rooney is the man to replace him.
Kevin Muscat
Yokohama F. Marinos boss Kevin Muscat is near the top of the betting to replace Michael Beale. He’s been compared to former Celtic manager and current Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.
If he could replicate Postecoglou’s success north of the border he’d be popular with Rangers fans but would he be a rogue appointment?
Steven Davis
Northern Ireland and Rangers midfielder Steven Davis is the current interim manager of the Gers and, as we know, possession is nine tenths of the law. The 38-year-old has huge experience in the game and certainly has the Rangers credentials to go with it with hundreds of appearances for the club under his belt.
Pascal Jansen
AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen features prominently in the list in the early stages and the 50-year-old’s side are going great guns in the Eredivisie. They’re currently in second place and are yet to taste defeat in the league this campaign.
Graham Potter
Would Graham Potter see the Rangers position as the perfect opportunity to earn himself a big Premier League job after success in Scotland?
It’s worked for others in the past, however, Potter’s stock is still high despite his Chelsea sacking. It’s claimed the former Brighton and Blues boss is waiting for the right project. It remains to be seen whether that’s at Ibrox.
Jesse Marsch
Former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch falls into the same category as Potter. His stock is pretty high despite being sacked by the now Championship side and he could see a Rangers move as the perfect opportunity to show everyone what he’s about.
His sides have often been energetic, hard working and entertaining. Those are perfect characteristics for a Rangers side.
Kjetil Knutsen
Who is Kjetil Knutsen we hear you ask… He’s the manager of Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt and he’s led them to a few impressive wins in Europe over the last couple of years.
His side beat Roma and then hammered Celtic 5-1 on aggregate over two legs. He could prove a shrewd appointment.
Marcelo Bielsa
It’s hard to say that Marcelo Bielsa would bring guaranteed success to Ibrox, however, Rangers sure would be entertaining.
Ex-Leeds boss Bielsa would bring his murderball play to Rangers and if it clicks, they could dominate in the Scottish Premiership for a while.
He’s currently the manager of the Uruguay national team so it’d have to be a great offer from Rangers to get him on board.
Ralph Hasenhuttl
Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is also looking for the next opportunity to prove his worth after bing sacked by the Saints last year.
Hasenhuttl’s sides have had success but they’re also prone to completely falling apart (see their TWO 9-0 losses during his time at Southampton).
