Wataru Endō undergoing Liverpool medical ahead of Chelsea move

Not again?!

Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo is currently undergoing a medical at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground ahead of his move to Chelsea.

The Japan international is set to join the Blues in an £107m transfer after agreeing a shock £16m deal with the Anfield club yesterday.

Endo becomes Chelsea’s third midfield signing of the summer who led Liverpool up the garden path before heading to London for higher wages.

The 30-year-old has committed his future to the Stamford Bridge side by signing a 25-year contract, thus sparing the club another FFP charge.

‘It’s always been my dream to sign for an illustrious club like Liverpool, only to have my head turned at the 11th-hour by Chelsea and their grubby millions’, Endo told Paddy Power News.

‘I’d like to thank Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s scouting department for alerting Chelsea to my availability and current market value’.

‘And I can’t wait to experience the famous atmosphere at Anfield when I run out onto the pitch in my Chelsea kit’, added Endo, before exiting Melwood and heading down the M6.

Blues chairman Todd Boehly expressed his gratitude to Liverpool, particularly to the doctors at Melwood working round the clock to ensure Chelsea got their summer dealings over the line.

‘Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Liverpool’s medical staff for all their efforts during the current transfer window’, Boehly told Paddy Power News.

‘The money they’ve saved us on MRI scans will help offset the £900m we’ve spent on players since I took charge of the club’.

Meanwhile, after failing in bids to land Endo, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told the club to launch a £60m double-raid on Saudi-based midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

However, Fabrizio Romano understands that Chelsea are ready to rival the Anfield club for the pair’s signatures with a £601m bid.
