Actress Julia Roberts has taunted Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola by claiming the Spaniard is unable to win the UEFA Champions League without the brilliance of Lionel Messi.
Questionable tactics and line-up choices have doomed the manager’s teams in the tournament since last winning the trophy with his Messi-inspired Barcelona side in 2011.
Hollywood A-Lister and diehard Manchester United fan Roberts also rubbished claims Guardiola was the greatest manager in football history by declaring Jose Mourinho as the ‘GOAT’.
The star was responding to comments by Guardiola about her United allegiances following City’s 7-0 rout of RB Leipzig in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 clash.
‘Fraudiola can only win the Champions League with Messi’, the Pretty Woman star told Paddy Power News.
‘Messi won it without Pep, but Pep hasn’t won it without Messi. FACT’.
‘Big Sam could’ve won the trophies Pep won at Barca with Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta in midfield’.
‘Pep inherits great teams. He would never have won the Champions League with Porto or Inter. That’s why Jose is the GOAT for me’, added the Oscar winner.
Upon hearing Roberts’ remarks, the former Bayern Munich boss hit back claiming the actress was a ‘sh*te’ Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg’s Hook.
‘I take it back. She is not my hero. She looked more like Wee Jimmy Krankie than Tinkerbell with that haircut’.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose agreed with Jamie Carragher that Manchester City are a better side without Erling Haaland.

‘Things could’ve been very embarrassing for us had Erling not been on the pitch’, Rose told Paddy Power News.
‘He only managed to score a paltry five goals against us. Imagine if a decent striker like Wout Weghorst had played instead? It could’ve easily ended up 10 or 15 nil’.
‘Sure, he can score 39 goals in 36 games. But what’s he like in the press? Not my cup of tea, mate’.
