Norwich City’s gift shop has sold out of green and yellow scarves after Manchester United’s 7-0 humiliation by arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
United fans are blaming the joint-heaviest competitive defeat in the club’s history on the Glazer family and intend to protest during Thursday’s game with Real Betis.
The severity of yesterday’s defeat resulted in an unprecedented demand for green and gold scarves which created an out-of-stock situation at Norwich City’s Carrow Road store.
Diehard United fan Andy Duckworth told Paddy Power News:
‘Ordered my Norwich scarf online this morning, so hopefully it arrives on time for Thursday’.
‘Old Trafford will be a sea of yellow and green. All the fans will be chanting ‘We want the Glazers out’.
Until we score a couple of goals that is.
‘Then we’ll put away the scarves and sing about going on the piss with Geordie Best’.
‘That’ll teach ‘em!’
When asked why the fans want to see the Glazer family relinquish control of the club, Andy said:
‘We need new owners who are willing to invest in the team. Not like the paltry £1.1 billion the Glazers have spent on new players since Sir Alex retired’.
Meanwhile, United manager Erik Ten Hag has signed the Liverpool fan who encroached the pitch during yesterday’s game at Anfield.
The fan was berated by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after colliding with Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones as they celebrated Roberto Firmino scoring the Reds’ 7th goal.

‘The fan tackled more Liverpool players than any Manchester United defender did during the 90 minutes’, the Dutchman told Paddy Power News.
In related news, Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos has shown off a new tattoo of Bruno Fernandes following the United skipper’s antics during yesterday’s game.
The 36-year-old shared an image of the fresh ink with his 54 million Instagram followers along with the caption: ‘My Sh*tehouse’.
