We’re getting towards the business end of the Carabao Cup as the race for the season’s first piece of silverware heats up.

Just eight teams will take part in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals but Manchester City, who won the competition four years in a row between 2018 and 2021, or last season’s champions Liverpool will not be among them.

That’s because the Premier League giants face off in an epic fourth-round clash at the Etihad Stadium, which looks set to blow the competition wide open with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham already knocked out.

Carabao Cup quarter-final draw date and start time

The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw is set to take place following the conclusion of Manchester City v Liverpool on Thursday, December 22. The Etihad Stadium clash kicks off at 8pm, which means the draw for the next round should be conducted at around 10pm. It will be televised on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

Host Mark Chapman will be joined by former Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given and England Euro 2022 winner Mary Earps to conduct the draw.

The Carabao Cup quarter-final ties are scheduled to take place between Tuesday, January 10 and Thursday, January 12.
