The Carabao Cup – or EFL Cup for those who refuse to recognise sponsors – is back for a 63rd season as the 92 teams in the top four leagues of the English football pyramid play it out for the season’s first piece of silverware.

Liverpool are the defending champions after beating Chelsea on penalties at Wembley in last year’s final and Jurgen Klopp’s silky squad will be targeting a record-extending 10th title this term.
