Al-Nassr have offered Paris Saint Germain £400m plus Cristiano Ronaldo in exchange for Lionel Messi, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.
The Saudi club made the sensational cash-plus-player bid after seeing how both players performed at the World Cup.
While Messi has been instrumental in Argentina’s run to the final, Portugal’s Ronaldo was reduced to the role of sulking substitute before exiting the tournament at the quarter-final stage.
Free-agent Ronaldo, who was weighing up a £400m offer to join the Saudi Pro League outfit, will become a makeweight in a deal to land Messi from PSG instead.
‘Penaldo can f**k off to Paris’, an Al-Nassr spokesperson told Paddy Power News.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
‘It doesn’t matter if the Qataris promised him an easy ride to the World Cup final if he joined PSG, Messi has shown everyone that he is the true GOAT’.
The Saudi club admitted it already had second thoughts about signing the former Real Madrid forward before his disappointing showing at the World Cup.
‘Sure, he could score 50-plus goals-per-season for five consecutive years in La Liga but could he do it during a sandstorm at Al-Shabab on a Wednesday night?’.
Al-Nassr also revealed some of the unusual demands made by the Portuguese superstar.
‘Ronaldo wanted the club crest changed from a map of Arabia to a black and white image of him in his Armani briefs’.
‘He also demanded to be led onto the pitch by Piers Morgan instead of child mascots ahead of every home game’.
‘We’re not saying Piers is unpopular, but the gift shop sold a record number of stones when it was rumoured he’d be joining Ronaldo here’.
Meanwhile, Messi has admitted he always wanted to play in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
‘Ask any young player growing up and they’ll tell you the same’, the former Barca star told Paddy Power News.
‘Running out in front of a packed King Saud University Stadium will be an emotional moment for me, my family and my bank manager in the Caymans’, he wept.
