Mbappe’s mum reveals he’s an Ant & Dec superfan after Newcastle takeover

The mother and agent of French striking superstar Kylian Mbappe has told Paddy Power News that her son is a “Huge fan of Ant n Dec” just hours after their beloved Newcastle United were taken over by a Saudi led consortium to become the richest club in the world.

The current PSG frontman will now be heavily linked with a potential move to the Magpies, as they begin their quest for world domination and his mum, former French handball star Fayza Lamari, immediately threw her beret into the ring, by confirming that the 22-year-old is a huge admirer of the Geordie duo, who to quote one club insider, are like, “Sh*t in a field.”

“He’s become a real fan-boy” mum explained, “He took out a hooky IPTV subscription just so he could watch their Saturday Night Take-Away show and he now even banks with Santander simply because the ads those guy’s make has him rolling with laughter.

“He’s even got a Byker Grove boxset and PJ & Duncan’s Greatest Hits – he goes way back.”

“There’s not many things he’ll drop the Xbox for, but Ant n Dec is one of them.”

When we put it to her that as we understood it, Mbappe was on his way to Real Madrid at the end of the season, she replied;

“This is simply not true. Kylian has always been a big fan of Real Madrid but he’s also a massive follower of the Premier League. He told me only yesterday that he has always dreamed of playing for a club who wear black and white stripes, are based in the North-East and can afford to pay him 500K-a-week.

“Kylian is a born winner, he wants to win trophies, simple as that.”

We explained that the Magpies hadn’t won a major trophy since 1969 and hadn’t lifted a top-flight league title since Laurel & Hardy were at the top of their game though this didn’t seem to put her off.

“He loves Laurel & Hardy too – they’re from Newcastle as well, right?”

We tried to get a Newcastle United angle on things as we were fascinated to know if Mbappe topped their summer shopping list in 2022. A source close to the club was prepared to come forward to shed a little more light on the subject.

“We’re going to be linked with every top player now of course,” they confirmed, “In the past 12 hours since the news broke, we’ve been contacted by thousands of agents.

“We’ve found out some real interesting things too. For instance, bet you didn’t know that Neymar apparently loves Newcastle Brown Ale, Erling Haaland has an artists impression of the Tyne Bridge on his bedroom wall and Harry Kane has watched the Sylvester Stallone remake of Get Carter over 150 times.”
