It’s back… the competition that Pep Guardiola just refuses to let anyone else win! The EFL Cup gets underway with a whole host of first-round fixtures this evening but the action really starts to heat up when Premier League clubs enter the fray.

The top-flight teams not competing in Europe – hello, Arsenal – plus Championship duo Fulham and West Brom join the fun in round two, and potential banana skins await with a whole host of lower-league opposition set to progress.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Manchester City are the favourites at 5/2 in our Winner betting market to pick up the first major silverware of the season for a fifth season in a row but they don’t enter the competition until round three.

Below you’ll find all the information you need about the EFL Cup second-round draw including the date and start time.

EFL Cup 2nd Round Draw Date

The EFL Cup second-round draw takes place on Wednesday August 11 following the conclusion of the London derby between Leyton Orient and Queens Park Rangers, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

All matches in the first five rounds of the competitions go straight to a penalty shootout if the 90 minutes ends in a draw so the balls should start coming out the hat from around 9.40pm at the earliest.
