Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was kicked out of his own pre-match press conference after it was hijacked by Cheshire Association of Local Councils CEO Jackie Weaver.
Weaver removed Klopp from a Zoom call with journalists after she accused the 53-year-old German of trying to ‘dictate the order of proceedings’.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager could be heard shouting ‘You have no authority here Jackie Weaver’ right before she placed him in a virtual waiting room.
An extraordinary meeting began with an unseen journalist mumbling ‘Brighton up Jurgen’.
Klopp then refused to answer any questions regarding Liverpool’s upcoming clash with Manchester City and would only discuss the possibility of a Celebrity Death Match between himself and Sean Dyche.
After several failed attempts by hacks to steer the conversation towards Sunday’s top-of-the-table fixture against Pep Guardiola’s men, the Zoom call was interrupted by Ms Weaver.
‘Stop talking. You have no authority here’, yelled Klopp.
When Weaver threatened to have Klopp kicked out of his own press conference, the 53-year-old raged:
‘Read the standing orders Britney – I mean Jackie’.
Shortly after Klopp was removed from the call, the meeting continued with Ms Weaver fielding questions about Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s game.
Weaver on the Brighton defeat: ‘I didn’t see the game as I was in Waitrose. But I hear Brighton were well worth the three points’.
Weaver on how the new signings are settling in: ‘I had to Google the pair of them just then. I tell you something, I wouldn’t kick that Ozan Kabak out of bed for eating crackers and cheese’.
Weaver on Alisson’s injury: ‘She had a bad fall in the snow last week but she text this morning to say she’ll be fine for the Zoom bingo on Saturday night’.
Weaver on the next Handforth parish council meeting: ‘Get the popcorn in, it’s all gonna kick-off. I’ve got the power, Brian Tolver’.
