Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea Special Bets: Gone by Xmas or set for European glory?

Thomas Tuchel is the latest man to have a ride on the Chelsea managerial merry-go-round - but for how long?

Thomas Tuchel

The king is dead, long live the king! Thomas Tuchel has replaced Blues legend Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge hot seat and joins an illustrious and lengthy list of men to have had a crack at staying in Roman Abramovich’s good books.

Many have tried and failed but has Tuchel got the magic formula or is he destined to be another notch on the billionaire’s bedpost? Well, Paddy’s trusty traders have had their say with a host of Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea Special Bets from when the German gaffer will go to whether he can get his expensive compatriots firing.

Frank Lampard Chelsea Champions League

Unfortunately for Tuchel, of all the things priced up, him leaving before Christmas Day this year is the most likely outcome at 7/4. Harsh but certainly not unprecedented in that part of west London.

Less likely is a dramatic upturn in fortunes for German hotshot Timo Werner. The £60m striker has netted just four times this season and we think there’s a 4/1 chance that he rediscovers his confidence in front of goal and takes his total to 15 Premier League goals before the end of this season. We’ve also got a market on Kai Havertz improving his haul by 900% and end with a minimum of 10 goals at 5/1.

If Tuchel makes it to the New Year then anything’s possible with the talented squad he has at his disposal. If he makes it to the end of the 2024/25 season he truly will be one of the game’s greats and we’ve got him at 9/2 to win the Champions League at Chelsea before the start of the 2024/25 season.

Neymar

It’s only slightly less likely (5/1) that the often-abrasive Tuchel will have left Chelsea before the start of the 2021/22 season. And, at the time of writing, it’s the same odds that he reaps immediate rewards and wins a trophy this season.

You can get bigger odds of 6/1 if you think The Blues win their next 5 Premier League games and a whopping 100/1 if they win 10 on the bounce. In terms of transfers Chelsea are always in the mix for big names and it’s a double-digit 12/1 price Tuchel raids his old club Paris St-Germain for Kylian Mbappe or Neymar this year.

They’re going to need some serious cash to bring in either of those and a fire sale of their underperforming Germans with Tuchel also leaving is a juicy 33/1. Unsurprisingly it’s even longer odds of 40/1 for Chelsea to pull off an unlikely double and win the Premier League and the  Champions League this year.
