Transfer odds: Paddy’s traders price up who could be on the move in January window

The window's open once again... but are we going to see any big transfers this month?

Strap yourselves in, the transfer window has been slammed… open? Some of the biggest players on the planet could make moves this month and some of the Premier League’s big boys have been linked with ins and outs.

Paddy’s priced up some of the movers and shakers in the January transfer window including Dele Alli, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba and even Jesse Lingard. So, let’s see how likely we think each move is.

Manchester United Incoming

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho was one of the stories of the summer as Manchester United refused to meet the German club’s asking price of over £100m in the middle of a global pandemic. They are still the favourites to get a deal done this month but there seems to be a long way to go between the two parties.

United are the second favourites to sign Jack Grealish this month. The Aston Villa man has been one of the stars of the season and has really come of age leading the Midlands club this term. United’s old foes Manchester City lead our market for Grealish at the moment.

United are in the race for Dele Alli of Spurs. They’re the fourth favourites behind PSG, Everton and Crystal Palace for the out-of-sorts playmaker.

Manchester United outgoings

The mercurial Paul Pogba is seemingly constantly linked with a departure from Old Trafford – and he rarely makes moves to play this down. He’s been making noises that he wants out and former club Juventus are Paddy’s favourites to do a deal before the end of the month. Paris St-Germain are next up with Real Madrid third in the queue.

Jesse Lingard is the forgotten man at Old Trafford and a departure this month feels likely for the England midfielder. Real Sociedad is the most-likely destination with West Ham and Aston Villa next in the market.

Dean Henderson has been unable to dislodge David de Gea between the sticks at United, fluffing his big chance when picked to start against Sheffield United with a major blunder. The Blades are the most likely to re-sign the stopper they had on loan for two seasons with West Brom less likely and Newcastle our third favourites.

Tottenham Incomings

In terms of players heading to Spurs, the north London club feature in a number of markets without being the out-and-out favourites for anyone. They’re our 6th-most likely club to sign the recently-released former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa with Wolves clear at the top of the market.

They’re our third favourites to land Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish behind Manchester City and Manchester United this month. They’ve shown a strong interest in the past but have work to do to jump ahead of the Manchester duo in the queue.

Tottenham outgoings

Dele Alli’s fallen out of favour at Spurs big time and is odds-on to link up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino at Paris St-Germain. The ex-Spurs boss is still yet to be confirmed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement but he looks nailed on to be heading to the French capital. Everton and Crystal Palace are the next-shortest clubs in the running but at a price in double figures at the time of writing it looks like England man is heading across the channel.

Liverpool Incomings

Liverpool are another club priced up as having a chance to land Dele Alli but with PSG’s aforementioned interest a deal seems a long way off and their price reflects that.

Our traders also think they’re in the hunt for Jack Grealish. However, with them being out fourth favourites behind Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Jurgen Klopp will have it all to do if he wants to wrap up a deal.

The Premier League champions were linked with a sensational move for Jadon Sancho late in the summer transfer window and they’re still hovering around second favouritism for the England attacker now. It would take a club-record fee to get it done but with Manchester United our market leaders it would be a huge story if they were to pull it off.

Man City Incomings

As mentioned, City are now the favourites to land Grealish as they look to make up for a lack of creativity since David Silva left in the summer. Grealish would certainly fit that bill and would not come cheap for the big-spending Citizens.

Man City Outgoings

City legend Sergio Aguero is the biggest name linked with a potential exit at The Etihad this month. Juventus lead the market to secure the 32-year-old’s signature before the window closes. Real Madrid are next in the market for the former Atletico striker while Paris St-Germain are third on our list.
