John Terry is odds-on favourite to become the next permanent Derby manager as the Rams looks to replace Phillip Cocu.
The Dutchman was sacked last month with Derby rooted to the bottom of the Championship, and Wayne Rooney was given the reins on a temporary basis in addition to his role as player/coach.
The Manchester United and England great looks to be the natural successor to the ousted Cocu and is 6/4 to take over, having seen the Rams pick up five points from their last three games, but his fellow England ‘Golden Generation’ team-mate Terry is even more likely to get the nod at 8/11.
The Chelsea legend has been working as Dean Smith’s assistant at Aston Villa since October 2018 and has now been touted to take his first steps into full-time management, potentially starting out where former Blues team-mate Frank Lampard began his managerial career just three seasons ago.

Current Swansea City boss Steve Cooper (9/1) is next on the shortlist followed by former Wigan manager Paul Cook (10/1).
Then come a number of more established managers who have a raft of experience under their wings and they’re led by ex-Liverpool and Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez. He’s currently in China managing Dalian Professional but has made no secret in the past about his preference to manage in England and be close to his family permanently.
Sam Allardyce and David Wagner are both priced alongside Benitez at 16/1 while ex-Lincoln and Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley rounds out the most likely candidates at 20/1.
There’s a host of seasoned Championship campaigners in contention with the likes of Eddie Howe, Garry Monk and Steve McClaren being priced up. Some more interesting options include Ralf Rangnick, Sol Campbell and, of course, Alan Curbishley of Pundits fame, but they’re all long shots in reality.
