It most of been one hell of a super Sunday for one of our punters after beating odds of 2,983/1 to score a wonderful windfall from Paddy. Our winner utilised the extensive selections from our #WhatOddsPaddy offering to pick off a top treble that had our traders rubbing their eyes in disbelief.
Our crafty customer must have called on some extensive football knowledge to perfectly predict a trio of punts on three late games from the Norwegian, French and English leagues. After placing a stake of just £1 on the bet, our victor needed to correctly call the winner of each game, who would get the most cards and who would have the most corners in the match. Easy-peasy eh?
That’s exactly what happened though, and the winnings were on their way back to East Sussex when the final whistle in the final game sounded on Sunday. But, that’s not to say there wasn’t drama along the way, let’s tell you how the bets came up.

We’ll save the fireworks for the end and tell you about the one game that landed easily. We start the journey at the Sandefjord Arena in Norway, where the meeting of Sandefjord and Valerenga in the Norwegian top-flight featured on the betslip. Our winner needed Valerenga to win and have the most corners, with Sandefjord collecting the most cards from the referee.
A brace from Vidar Oem Kjartansson and a strike from Aron Doennum sealed a 3-0 win for the away side and they also dominated the corner stats over Sandefjord, with it reading 8-2 in Valerenga’s favour at full time. The nerves would have been jangling a little for our victor thanks to a lenient referee though, who didn’t pull out his book until late in the second half.
It was the 78th minute before Martin Kreuzigler of Sandefjord had his name taken and the deal was sealed when Brice Wembangomo picked up another yellow for the home side in stoppage time, while Valerenga managed to stay out of the notebook completely.
Things were a bit more straightforward for our winner in France as the bet required Lille to topple Lens at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, with the home side having the most corners and their opponents troubling the official more. Lille crushed Lens on the night 4-0 with goals from Burak Yilmaz, Jonathan Bamba, Jonathan Ikone and Yusuf Yazici. The hosts also had five more corners on the night than their opponents.
Lens did the business for our victor in terms of cards as well, and gave ref François Letexier a pretty busy night to boot. The man in the middle showed three yellows and two reds to the visitors as they finished the game with nine men, much to the delight of our winner.
Finally, our punter must really love Ross Barkley today after his 91st-minute belter from outside the box secured the loot. Our winner had predicted an Aston Villa victory coupled with them topping the number of corners, while he also needed the home team to have the poorer discipline at the King Power Stadium.
Jonny Evans’ booking in the 74th minute swung the card count 4-3 in Leicester’s favour and Villa comfortably lead 7-2 on corners at the end of the contest. All that was needed was the result and Barkley came up trumps for our winner at the death, handing The Villans an improbable fourth Premier League victory in-a-row in the process.
That goal saw £2,984 land in our victors account.
All that is left for us to say is “Welcome to the Punting Hall of Fame!”
