Well, straight from the outset this one is over. Chelsea took a bad beating at home to the Germans in late February and I am afraid there won’t be any miracles happening this time around, after last year’s stunning comebacks at the semi-final stage.
Chelsea haven’t beaten Bayern Munich in 90 mins in over 15 years in European competition, with current manager Frank Lampard bagging two of the four goals that day.
The Blues have a very long absentee list with key names such as Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and Jorginho all out through injury or suspension.
Chelsea steadied the ship and managed to secure 4th spot in the EPL this season, which I think is what they will be most happy about this season.
Some may see this as a free shot at a tie that is already beyond them, but I think that the Germans will pile on the pain for the Blues.
Bayern have been throwing wins around for fun since football returned and have not dropped points since Jesus wore shorts! They’ve scored 3 or more goals in 6 of their last 7 games in the UCL and have this season’s top goalscorer in Robert Lewandowski firing them in for fun with 10 in his last 8 games!

This is a tie screaming out for an SGM bet, so here goes…
Robert Lewandowski to score (no brainer)
Bayern to win by 2 or more (same as above)
Bayern over 6.5 corners (following the theme?)
Andreas Christensen to be booked (he is in for a tough night at the back and is fond of booking, with 5 this season in 21 games )
