Football tips: Man Utd set to inflict more misery on Bournemouth in Old Trafford rout

Man Utd are on fire, Bournemouth are not. Saturday's outcome is surely a no-brainer.

One of the two Saturday 3pm games this week sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s all-conquering Man United welcome all-shite Bournemouth to Old Trafford. The fortunes of these two since the return of football could not be much more contrasting with United winning 3 on the bounce following their opener versus Tottenham, and Bournemouth being utterly garbage (bar about 12 minutes against Wolves) losing all 4.

Nothing will change in this fixture and I expect United to brush the hapless cherries aside inside 20 minutes.

Much has been made of United’s form and rightly so – their best starting XI is unquestionably capable of beating anyone on their day, and this is reflected somewhat in United’s price to win the league next season, where they are 3rd favs and not as far behind City and Liverpool as you might expect. I’ve been hugely impressed with them and fully believe the hype, and my previous posts on them would back that up.

I think they will catch either Leicester or Chelsea for a top 4 finish quite comfortably at this rate given their respective inconsistencies. This game provides United with an ideal opportunity to haul themselves into the Champions League spots until Chelsea play later in the day.

Bournemouth, as mentioned above, have been shockingly bad. The return of David Brooks after the break has done nothing to ease their relegation fears and they are in serious trouble now, especially when you consider their last 6 games are against United, Spurs, Leicester, Man City, local rivals Southampton and Everton on the last day of the season. With the way they are currently operating, it’s hard to see them get anything at all from their next 4 fixtures and it could be all too little too late by the time they face Southampton in their penultimate game. It seems crazy to think Eddie Howe could be considered to be under pressure, but that he is and that’s reflected in his odds to be the next manager to leave.

This game will be nothing but one-way traffic. If United score early enough, i.e. in the first 20 minutes, Bournemouth could be on the end of consecutive hidings. A couple of these selections I like I tipped up in their game vs Sheffield United, and but for a 47th-minute corner we would have had a 12/1 winner. I like this selection again and will choose the below 3 as my best bets for this game.

This is not quite a 12/1 shot like it was for the most part against Sheffield United, but I’d back this at anything bigger than 9/4. United should really smash these assuming they go all out from the start, and considering they are 1/7 just to win the match, this represents value to me once again.

Correct Score – Man Utd to win 3-0

Rather than chickening out a bit and suggesting a ditched correct score (albeit a winning one) like I did against Sheff United, we’ll be a bit braver here and nail our colours to the mast here and go with United to hack up 3-0.

Again, I don’t see United conceding, especially not against this shower of shite, and with United winning each of their 2 previous games 3-0, and Bournemouth conceding 4 against Newcastle (yeah, Newcastle), you should get value for money in the 3-0 and we have it boosted in our power prices too.

Same Game Multi – Man Utd -2, Marcus Rashford to score & Jefferson Lerma to be booked

This is a very tasty looking, and I think I’ve said enough above about the -2. I feel Rashford is very much due a goal and will be desperate to get on the scoresheet here, while Lerma is a card machine and will be a walking booking on Saturday. Enjoy.
