Once training is finished, footballers don’t have an awful lot to do with their days. A growing number of them have decided that the best way to pass the time is to post saccharine, soft-focus photos of themselves and their pets on Instagram, often accompanied by emojis.

As a result, some of their dogs, cats and otherwise have become recognisable characters in their own right. But can you recognise the owner from a photo of the animal?
