Get to know: Spain

Qualification for Spain got off to a fairly rocky start when they lost their second group game to eventual runners up Slovakia in Žilina.  That game aside, Spain served up a perfect qualification campaign winning their remaining 9 matches and finishing 5 points clear at the top of Group C.

In the group stages, they won 9 games, drew 0 and lost 1, scoring 23 goals, conceding 3 and ending up with a +20 goal difference.

In the draw for the main event, Spain were placed in Group D, alongside the Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia.
