12.15pm: Van der Voort v Gurney – Gurney -1.5 on handicap
I see this one going Daryl Gurney’s way. He came into the tournament in very poor form but his opening two performances were very impressive, all up around 100 average. If he continues that form I don’t see Van der Voort living with him.
If Gurney continues the form he has been showing I think he will win easily. Gurney (-1.5) on the handicap is my bet in this one.
1.30pm: Bunting v Searle – Searle -1.5 on handicap
I see Ryan Searle winning this one. He’s an unseeded player but he has had a good player and he’s probably one of the unseeded players that the seeded players want to avoid. He’s shown that by making it through to the last 16.
Stephen Bunting, while he did beat James Wade, he’s had an inconsistent year. I think Searle will come out on top here and Searle (-1.5) on the handicap is what I’m going for here.
6.15pm: Van Duijvenbode v Durrant – Over 11.5 180s in match
This should be the game of the round I think – two very good players in good form – andI think it should be a close game. I’m going to stay away from the match markets and I’m going to pick Over 11.5 180s in the match.
Dirk van Duijvenbode has been very good with his scoring. Durrat isn’t a big 180 hitter but he did get seven in the last round so maybe he’s coming into form. I think the game will go long. The more sets we have the better chance we have with this bet landing here.
7.30pm: Price v King – Price most 180s, highest checkout & win
We definitely could see fireworks in this one and there’s definitely a bit of bad blood between these two. Mervyn King is probably not the only player who has some bad blood with Gerwyn Price, mind!
I think King might get caught up in it while Price will just do his thing so the bet I like here is Price to have most 180s, highest checkout and to win. Price played really well against Brendan Dolan and I think he can keep progressing here.
