In this match I like Joe Cullen to win very comfortably 3-0. I think Joe Cullen is one of the better players on the circuit at the moment and I just think that Wayne Jones will not be able to live with the level of throwing that Cullen brings.
Cullen, his problem tends to be against the bigger players at the later stages of tournaments but against these sorts of players he can win very comfortably. I think, looking at the prices, 3-0 to Cullen looks a nice play here.
I think this is going to be a game that’s very tight and I think Over 4.5 Sets is the bet here. Whitlock has been in good form all year, knocking Michael van Gerwen out of three of the major tournaments but Labanauskas has a great record here, getting to the quarter finals last year and putting in a good performance in the first round.
I just think it’s very hard to split these players and think this one will go all the way. So, for this to go Over 4.5 sets looks like the bet for me.
I’m going to go against Petersen here with the outsider Steve Lennon. The Irishman has shown good form towards the end of the year and had a very good performance in his first round win.
Petersen, on the other hand, has probably been one of the best players in the world this year but I think his form has dropped off recently and going into the tournament as one of the favourites will bring another layer of pressure for him. That’s why I think Lennon can Win and any price over 2/1 feels like value to me.
It’s very tight here between Rob Cross, who is a former world champion, and Dirk Van Duijvenbode, who emerged in the world Grand Prix when getting to the final. He’s been showing consistent form since.
People might think Rob Cross, as former World Champion, should be favourite here, but I just think Van Duijvenbode’s form recently has been far ahead of Cross’. For me, Van Duijvenbode (-1.5) looks like a good price and I think he can win this game comfortably with Cross struggling.
